My Top 5 Pregnancy Approved Products for Glowing Skin
I am a huge skincare junkie. If you follow me on social then you know this is no secret. My skin type is dry and I’m extremely fair (if you see me with any kind of tan, it’s fake). My skin also doesn’t have the best elasticity or scar healing capabilities. So in addition to hiding from the sun and continuously applying copious amounts of sunscreen, I spend a lot of time exfoliating, hydrating, and taking care of my skin (even down to the foods I eat).
After discovering I was pregnant, I immediately got to work researching how to protect my skin and prevent stretch marks. Almost everyone has stretch marks and there is nothing wrong with them. I’ve had them on my inner thighs since my teenage years and while they used to bother me I hardly notice them now. Since I know my skin is prone to dryness and stretch marks, my goal from the start was to maintain hydrated and glowing skin during my pregnancy. In my search for the best pregnancy-safe skincare products, I found these gems that have made a noticeable difference in my skin (I only wish I started this routine before pregnancy!).
1. Evereden Golden Belly Stretch Mark Serum
I apply this oil to my inner thighs, chest, and bump. It’s formulated for all areas of your body that are experiencing rapid growth during pregnancy (making them prone to stretch marks). When paired with the Golden Body Serum, this oil will leave your skin glowing from head-to-toe!
2. Evereden Golden Body Serum with Bakuchiol & Vitamin C
I’m so happy I discovered this product during pregnancy — I’ve tried many body oils and this has by-far been my favourite. It absorbs into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave an oily residue. I typically apply it after the shower and my skin is always glowing and hydrated the morning after. This product will be staying in my skincare routine after birth!
3. HATCH Smooth Belly Scrub
Suffering from itchy skin during pregnancy? It’s normal to experience this due to the rate at which your skin is stretching around your bump and breasts. This whipped exfoliator is creamy and gentle enough for your bump. It effectively buffs away dead skin so your post-shower body oils can penetrate deeper, helping to alleviate itchiness and keep your skin hydrated and glowy. If you’re in Canada, HATCH products can be purchased on Revolve (avoid those duties!).
4. HATCH Nipple + Lip Rescue Balm
I love that this product has multiple uses and will serve me after the babe arrives. I’m currently using it as a lip balm, but I know this will be an amazing product postpartum to ease dryness and pain associated with breastfeeding.
5. Evereden Soothing Belly Sheet Mask
Sheet masks for your bump? Yes! Think of this as a treatment for for deep hydration and softness. I started really showing around 20 weeks and found that my belly was growing a lot faster than previous weeks. Since then, I’ve been using one of these sheet masks every 2 weeks and I plan on increasing this to 1x per week for my last 8 weeks. Prevention is key.
