My Hospital Bag Essentials

I had planned on being hospital-ready by 35 weeks — that slowly turned into 36 weeks and then 37 weeks, and here I am at 39 weeks still stuffing snacks into hidden pockets of my diaper bag.

Here is my FULL list of everything I packed in my hospital bag with links to all the products so you are ready to go when the time comes. I decided to pack my Rimowa carry-on in addition to a cotton diaper bag for the baby’s things. It feels a little extra to bring a suitcase with me to deliver my baby, but I just love how compact and organized it is and easy to carry around. And, who knows, we may be there for a few days! I believe it’s better to be over-prepared than ask my husband to fetch me things that he absolutely won’t be able to find. Who needs that kind of stress?

These things might make your hospital stay a little cozier, but you absolutely do not need them! If you happen to spontaneously go into labour earlier than expected and you have nothing packed, don’t stress. The hospital will provide you with everything you need to deliver your baby, including a disposable gown. So as long as you have your car seat installed you can take your precious little one home with you.

Happy packing!
