Detox Breakfast Smoothie
I promise you this smoothie is delicious and it's super easy to make.
I love this recipe – it helps with digestion, it's energizing, it's hydrating, it's packed with fiber, it's basically a b-vitamin complex in a glass, and it contains 20g of protein. All the elements of a perfect breakfast smoothie.
I like to drink this before or after a workout in the mornings, but you can also sip this as an afternoon pick-me-up.
RECIPE:
1 cup coconut water
1 cup spinach
1/3 medium cucumber
1 lemon (freshly squeezed)
1 tsp maca powder
1 tbsp MCT oil
1 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 scoop vegan vanilla protein (I use Profi)
5-6 ice cubes
You can add 1/2 banana if you’re craving that extra bit of sweetness and fluffier texture. Sometimes I like to add 1 tbsp of almond butter if I want a smoothie with a little more substance. Or you can get fancy and add more greens like mint + kale.
Whatever you decide to add or substitute, the fresh lemon juice + vegan vanilla protein are two key ingredients that give it that sweet but tart lemon-vanilla taste.
Throw everything in a high-power blender for 35 seconds, pour into a tall glass, and enjoy!
